Clicker Board

A Clicker Board is a flexible planning tool, providing a canvas for noting ideas.

 

Place cells anywhere and fill them with pictures and text or insert Voice Notes. Link cells with Lines to form mind maps, storyboards, and diagrams.

 

It's easy to switch between a Clicker Board and the current Document using the top tabs. Board content can also be Exported to a more directly accessible form.

 

Clicker Boards can be used solo or collectively as a class. Teachers can produce exercises about sorting, sequencing and idea gathering - see LearningGrids for inspiration.

Create

To access Clicker Board click Clicker Board. A Blank Clicker Board is shown by default.

 

To create a new Clicker Board, click  and choose New Clicker Board. There are several template designs to choose from.

 

A Clicker Board can have multiple tabs. These are displayed along the bottom of the board. Click  to add a new blank board.

 

Right-click a board's tab to Duplicate, Delete, or Rename it.

Cells

Cells can contain text and a picture.

 

To add a cell, you can:

  • Drag  from the left toolbar and onto the board.

  • Click  in the left toolbar and then drag any cell onto the board.

  • Double-click any empty area.

  • Draw a Line to any empty area.

Write in Cells

Double-click a cell to start writing in it.

 

While writing, these icons appear in the cell's top-right corner:

 

 Keyboard - show the On-screen Keyboard.

 

 Predictor - show Word Predictions.

Voice Notes

To add a Voice Note, click  in the left toolbar and drag it onto the board.

 

To record:

  1. Click  Record Voice Note.

  2. Click  to start recording and then  to stop.

  3. Click  to hear your recording.

  4. Click Done to finish.

The Voice Note will change to . Left-click the Voice Note or when selected click  to play it.

Select Cells

Click a cell to select it.

 

To select multiple cells, hold the Ctrl key while clicking on them.

 

You can then:

  • Drag the square handles to resize.

  • Drag the round handles to draw a Line.

  • Use the tools below.

Pictures

To add a picture to a selected cell, click  :

 

 CrickPix2 - browse or search CrickPix2 picture files.

 

 Browse - browse or search your picture files.

 

 Camera - take a photo.

 

 Delete Picture - clear the current picture.

 

You can drag pictures directly onto the board from the CrickPix2 browser.

 

To change the background of the board itself, click  with no cells selected.

Colour

To change the colour of a selected cells background, text or border click  .

 

To change the colour of a selected line click  .

 

To change the colour of the board's background, click  with no cells selected.

Sound

To speak the contents of a cell, click  when a cell is selected.

 

Alternatively click  when no cells are selected to enable Sound Shift. Once enabled clicking any cell will speak its contents.

 

To disable Sound Shift click  .

Delete

To delete selected cells, click  .
